Segregation defects, one of the major defects that occur during large ingot casting, appear due to an inconsistent distribution of element concentrations in each area during solidification. The composition of the area that solidifies first and the area that solidifies slowly due to temperature difference of each part which can cause difference in the composition. In order to calculate this, convection during solidification must be considered. The Segregation feature of AnyCasting predicts the segregation defect area by considering the diffusion and natural convection in the coexisting melt section.
